Morton's neuroma - procedure details
Injections are performed using a ultrasound guided nerve block rather than a local infiltration at the site of cryosurgery. Such injections are less painful and the anaesthetic time is much longer. As a result painkillers are generally not required after the procedure.
Just a small incision is made to allow entry of the probe
Neuroma is located on ultrasound and probe positioned
Tiny nature of incision can be appreciated
A simple steristrip is applied and no stitches are needed.
Final dressing is relative small and patients can wear wide fitting
shoes (sandal or trainer) after the procedure.
